PENERAPAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN MONTESSORI BERBASIS CANVA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMULAAN SISWA KELAS 1 SDN 112271 SIAMPORIK T.A 2024/2025

Abstract


This research was conducted with the aim of: describing the planning, implementation, and results of the application of the Montessori learning method based on Canva to improve the early reading skills of grade 1 students of SDN 112271 Siamporik in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This is based on the problem of students who cannot read yet and there are also students who do not know the letters at all and do not know the difference between vowels and consonants. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in class I A SDN 112271 Siamporik with 25 students. The time of implementation of this research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, tests, and non-tests (observation and documentation). In the results of the pre-test reading in the pre-cycle, students got an average score of 60.6. Furthermore, after being given the Montessori learning method based on Canva in cycle I, for the learning plan made by the teacher at meeting I got a score percentage of 78.82% and at meeting II got a score percentage of 81.17%, for the observation of learning activities the teacher got a score of 63.75% at meeting I and 75% at meeting II, while for student activities got a score of 60% at meeting I and 75% at meeting II, student reading results increased with an average score of 69.8. Then continued with cycle II for the learning plan made by the teacher at meeting I got a score percentage of 88.23% and at meeting II got a score percentage of 91.67%, for the observation of learning activities the teacher got a score of 85% at meeting I and 92.5% at meeting II, while for student activities got a score of 82.5% at meeting I and 87.5% at meeting II and student reading results increased with an average score of 82.2. From these results, it can be concluded that there was an increase after the Canva-Based Montessori Learning Method was implemented in improving the beginning reading skills of grade 1 students at SDN 112271 Siamporik in the 2024/2025 academic year.
