Pengaruh Metode Jelajah Alam Sekitar (JAS) Terhadap Kreatifitas Dan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Kelas IV Dalam Pembelajaran IPAS

Teaching methods play an important role in the success of learning activities. This research aims to test the effect of the Exploring the Natural Environment (JAS) method on students' creativity and critical thinking skills in learning material about natural appearances and their use in class IV at SD Negeri 015 Petaling Jaya. This research was a quasi-experimental design that applies a post-test control group design. A total of 38 class IV students participated, consisting of 19 class IVa students who used the JAS method and 18 class IVb students as a control group using the conventional method. The pre-test and post-test results were research data which are then tested using classical assumptions and the Mann-Whitney test. The test results showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 which was smaller than 0.05, which means that the JAS method has a significant influence on students' creativity. Apart from that, this method was also proven to have a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills with the same significance value. The increase in the N-Gain score for students' creativity reached 73.56%, which was included in the quite effective category. Meanwhile, the increase in the N-Gain score of students' critical thinking skills reached 74.65%, also included in the quite effective category. Thus, the JAS method has a positive and quite effective impact on creativity and critical thinking skills.
